The Waitaki Whitestone Geopark presents:

Discovering the people of Victorian Ōamaru

Ōamaru is famous for its striking Victorian era whitestone buildings. Join Chloe Searle as she explores who worked and lived in these buildings over 140 years ago. Inspired by the book "Oamaru 1878" this talk will cover the demographics of the town, then and now. It will also offer a peek at individual stories and lives.

A presentation by Chloe Searle
Chloe is the Director of the Waitaki Museum & Archive and Forrester Gallery. In her previous role as curator at the Museum she has undertaken a lot of research into Ōamaru’s Victorian inhabitants and their lives.
