Artist Aimy Chin, born in NZ with Asian & European roots is heavily influenced from her 23 years abroad.

After studying at Otago University to gain a Diploma in Fashion & Design, Aimy moved to Australia and began working with one of Australia’s most renowned fashion
designers, Akira Isogawa.

Her role as Textile developer was based between Sydney and Indonesia. Aimy gained further qualifications in business and opened and ran a successful boutique in Sydney. Her career cemented a love of fabrics, design, collage applications, prints, dyesand above all, colour. Her work is predominately mix media, acrylics, oils, Indian ink, dyes and collage.

Visitors can get involved with a collaborative artwork where you draw up your favourite thing about Oamaru on a mini-canvas. These will make up a larger artwork which will be donated. Participants go in the draw to win one of Aimy’s wonderful artworks.

Opening Friday 6 & Sat 7 Sept. Then open weekdays Tues, Thurs, Fri 11-3pm.
