Since Whitestone Cheese was started by Simon Berry's parents Bob and Sue Berry in 1987, it has been a family operation.
Simon says even though the staff has steadily grown to 70 since he moved back to Ōamaru permanently in 2003, they still call themselves the Whitestone family.
“We really enjoy the culture of a family operation, and we really focus on that culture of the staff having an enjoyable workplace, an enjoyable team environment. And yeah, we call them the Whitestone family. So every member of staff gets treated like family.”
