Repair and Maintenance Checklist
This checklist is available to help building owners prepare their own maintenance plans for their heritage place.
Keeping an eye on maintenance and repairs can catch potentially expensive building issues early to prevent more extensive and expensive works that result when repairs are delayed. You can unblock a gutter or drain, fix a leaky window or roof, clear air vents, fix leaky plumbing. Doing this work early will save you money. You can plan and budget for any more extensive works that you can see will need done.
You can use this guide to create an ongoing maintenance programme. Every building will need something different so this checklist is general and can be adapted.
The checklist is not intended to take the place of a building condition survey by a professional building surveyor, architect, engineer or contractor. If you find something wrong, consult a relevant professional for advice to address the issue.
