Waitaki District Council is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data by us in connection with this website. It has been prepared in accordance with our obligations and your rights set out in the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993.

Waitaki District Libraries - Membership Privacy Statement

Upon membership, the personal information we require from you will be held by Waitaki District Libraries. You may have access to that information and request changes to it. You are not required by law to provide personal information, however, if you do not supply the information requested on application for membership, then Waitaki District Libraries will be unable to process your application.

You agree that Waitaki District Libraries may use your information for the purpose of:

Managing your membership (including maintaining your records, advising you of overdue items, recovering outstanding fines and debts, advising you of library services and events and, if required, contacting your nominated contact person)
Discussing, if you are under 16 years of age, with your parent or legal guardian any matters arising from your membership of Waitaki District Libraries.
Giving appropriate Council staff and/or a credit agency in the event of Waitaki District Libraries deciding to take action against you for the recovery of outstanding fines and debts.

You may also be contacted by post, email and telephone (including automated telephone messages and text messages) and that Waitaki District Libraries will not be responsible for third parties accessing any mail, email or telephone messages sent to you.
