Work will begin on a new car park for the Cape Wanbrow reserve next week, weather permitting.
The lack of car parking at the lower entrance to the reserve of Test Street has been an issue raised by the community. The new car park, which will have spaces for 10 vehicles, will be located at the end of Test Street just inside the reserve.
This is part of the ongoing improvements in the area, involving pest control, removal of ageing ponderosa pines, and native planting. The total budget for all three improvements is $170,000.
Work will be carried out by Specialised Services Group Ltd. and while the carpark is under construction, we’d appreciate if the community avoid using the Test Street entrance – or obey any directions or signage from contractors.
Some mountain bike tracks nearby will be temporarily closed during the construction work, and alignments and exits may be changed once the car park is complete.
The car park is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
