Easter and Anzac Day holiday closing hours

Many Council services will be closed over the Easter long weekend and the Anzac Day 2023
Council offices in Ōamaru and the Palmerston Service Centre will both close doors at 4pm Thursday 6 April 2023 (phone available until 5pm) and both are back to usual operating hours on Tuesday 11 April 202. Both offices will be closed on the Anzac Day. For afterhours services, please ring 03 433 0300 or Freephone 0800 108 081 and follow the prompts.
Waitaki District Libraries
Over the Easter break - Good Friday, 7 April through to Monday 10 April, Ōmārama, Kurow, Palmerston, and Ōamaru libraries are Closed.
On Saturday, 8 April, Otematata library will be open 10.30-12pm and Hampden library will be open 10am-12pm, otherwise closed the same days as above.
All libraries will be closed on the Anzac Day, Tuesday 25 April.

Forrester Gallery and Waitaki Museum & Archive
Good Friday – closed
Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday – open usual weekend/public holiday hours as follows:
- Waitaki Museum & Archive 10:00am – 12:30pm
- Forrester Gallery – 1:30pm – 4:00pm
Anzac Day - open usual public holiday hours as follows:
- Waitaki Museum & Archive 10:00am – 12:30pm
- Forrester Gallery – 1:30pm – 4:00pm
Ōamaru Opera House
Will be closed for Easter from Friday 7 April and reopening on Tuesday 11 April. The Ōamaru Opera House will also be closed for ANZAC Day on Tuesday 25 April, however will open if required as a wet weather option for the ANZAC service.
Transfer Stations and Waitaki Resource Recovery Park
Ōmārama, Otematata, Kurow and Hampden Transfer Stations and Palmerston Landfill are unaffected by Easter Public Holidays.
Palmerston Landfill will be closed on ANZAC Day - Tuesday 25 April 2023.
Waitaki Resource Recovery Park will be closed Friday 7 April, Monday 10 April and ANZAC Day Tuesday 25 April. Recycling will be open Sunday 9 April however the Shop and Garden centre will be closed on this day.
