Voting in the 2022 Local Election

Special voting is still open – What Makes You Tick Waitaki?
If you are enrolled and have received your papers in the mail, ensure you post these by Tuesday 4 October 2022 to ensure they get to election HQ in time to be counted. If you miss this date, you can also drop your votes in one of the orange Vote 2022 bins.
Special Voting
If you are yet to enrol or your voting papers have been damaged, special voting is available during normal office hours at the Waitaki District Council Thames Street office until 12 noon Saturday 8 October 2022.
The voting team will also be at the Oamaru Farmers Market on Sunday 2 October for special voting – there will also be an orange bin available this day.
Special Voting will be available at the Waihemo Service Centre on Thursday 6 October 2022 2.00 – 4.00pm
Special Voting and voting paper drop off will be available on Friday 7 October 2022 at these locations and times:
Omarama Community Hall – 10.00 – 11.30am
Otematata - outside On the Spot Otematata 1.00 – 2.00pm
Kurow Museum & Information Centre 2.45 – 3.45pm
Orange Voting Bins
Waitaki District Council – orange voting bin will be in location until 12 noon Saturday 8 October 2022 during normal office hours
Oamaru Library – Orange voting bin will available during normal Library hours until 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2022
Waihemo Service Centre – Orange voting bin will be available during normal office hours until 4.00pm Thursday 6 October 2022.
The Orange voting bin at the Kurow Museum & Information Centre will be available during normal operating hours until 3.45pm on Friday 7 October 2022
