Aquatic Centre makes changes to accommodate schools

Aquatic Centre kids pool

Term one begins this week, and after the dreadful drowning statics the country has experienced this summer, the importance of teaching our children to swim cannot be overstated. Which is why the Waitaki Aquatic Centre has made changes to how it operates under the red traffic light so that the facility can best meet the needs of the whole community.

From today, while school groups are having lessons, the pool will close its doors to the public. Customers generally try to avoid sharing the pool with lots of noisy children, so this shouldn’t be too much of a disadvantage for regulars. Want to swim? All you need to do is check the pool’s Facebook page or council’s website for the latest timetable and avoid those hours.
