Does your community group need funding support? Do you need money for an arts project or need to cover transportation costs for your sports team? Applications open soon for the first round of Waitaki District Council funding grants.

The Waitaki District Council administers a range of grants and awards for groups and individuals. The first of these, the Community Group Grants opens for applications on Feb 14.

Last years’ round of the main grants had more than $65,000 for distribution.

Creative Communities Grant - $18,000 – 11 applications

Community Group Grants - $37,500 – 29 Applications

Sport NZ Rural Travel Fund - $10,038 – with 8 applications

This round in February/March will likely have a similar amount to allocate (the exact sum is not certain at this time). All the application forms will be available online as well as hard copies this year to make applying easier.

Creative Communities Scheme Monday 21 February - Friday 25 March

Donald & Nellye Malcolm Trust Monday 1 August - Wednesday 31 August

Sport NZ Rural Travel Fund Monday 21 March - Friday 22 April 2022

Waitaki Heritage Fund 1 March - 14 May
